Spanish Diplomat Manuel Albares Visits Morocco on Thursday

This is yet another gesture that consolidates the very strong rapprochement between Rabat and Madrid that began in March 2022. For his first visit abroad since his reappointment to the new socialist government, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, will travel to Morocco this Thursday, December 14, 2023, announce several media from the Iberian neighbor.
According to the same sources, the head of Spanish diplomacy will meet his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

On November 28, eight days after announcing the composition of his new government team, Pedro Sanchez, president of the Spanish government, spoke with his Moroccan counterpart, Aziz Akhannouch.
“We agreed on the importance of friendship between Spain and Morocco. This is why we want to promote the bilateral agenda already agreed and explore the new opportunities offered by this renewed relationship,” Sanchez said on the social network X (formerly Twitter), following this telephone interview.
