Saïed & Ammar: Diplomacy and Funds Abroad

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, granted an audience, Thursday, September 14, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar. The interview focused on the diplomatic movement with a view to allowing the new consuls and ambassadors to take up their functions as quickly as possible.

On this occasion, the Head of State underlined the importance for Tunisian diplomacy to present a positive image of the country during its missions abroad. He insisted on the independence and sovereignty of the country in all circumstances and in all international capitals.

In addition, the President of the Republic recalled the mission assigned to ambassadors and their responsibilities towards Tunisians residing abroad.

During the interview, the question of funds stolen and diverted abroad was also raised. Tunisian diplomats must participate in resolving this problem. And this, in collaboration with all the ministries concerned, foreign countries and especially non-governmental and regional organizations.

Finally, note that funds stolen or misappropriated abroad are not subject to limitation.
