UGTT Initiative: A Vital Solution For Country’s Recovery

The Deputy Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) Othman Jallouli, estimated on Saturday that the dialogue initiative launched by the trade union center in partnership with national organizations, is the only solution to save the country from this crisis.

In a statement to the media, on the occasion of the workers’ rally organized in front of the headquarters of the regional labor union (URT) in Sfax, Jalloui specified that the trade union center is for the fight against corruption but not to the detriment of freedoms. and applicable law.

Faced with the deterioration of the social, economic and political climate, the trade union center must assume its role properly and defend the interests of the workers and the right to organize, he noted. For her part, the General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, said that any attack against a union in the different corners of the world is considered an attack against all unions. She said her visit to Tunisia comes to express the support of 45 million members in the European Trade Union Confederation with the UGTT to face the attack perpetrated against its militants.
