The European Union plans to increase its financial contribution to UNRWA

European Union (EU) Foreign Minister Josep Borrell told a closed-door hearing in Brussels that Israel had not presented solid evidence of UNRWA’s involvement in the terrorism. “This is an Israeli campaign and an attempt to ‘kill’ the agency. The European Union must not cooperate with this,” he said. During the debates attended by EU foreign ministers, Borrell called for continued European support for UNRWA and even to increase it.

the head of European diplomacy, supported among others by Spain and Belgium, insisted that funding for UNRWA must be maintained and increased, despite the announcement of the suspension of this aid by most European countries. Many countries, including Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, have nevertheless assured that the revelations about UNRWA must be treated with the greatest seriousness, recalls the Israeli site 124NEWS.
