EU ‘security guarantees’ for Ukraine hinge on arms deliveries

The European Commission has developed and proposed to European countries “advanced security guarantees” for Ukraine, which consist of extending the European Peace Facility to finance further arms deliveries.

“Ministers should authorize me to present at the summit our security guarantees, which mainly consist of the expansion of the European Peace Facility and the coordination of bilateral agreements between EU countries and Ukraine,” he said. noted Josep Borrell.

According to him, Russia has “intensified its attacks, a few days ago, kyiv was the subject of a very powerful drone attack”. Therefore, Josep Borrell believes that “the time has come for the EU to use all its capabilities to support Ukraine”.
