Jan Lipavský in Croatia: Western Balkans and Crimean Platform main topics covered

Traveling to Zagreb, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský discussed the desire of the Western Balkan countries to join the European Union with his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlić-Radman. Prague, which has been in favor of their accession for several years, considers it an essential step in strengthening security in Europe.

The heads of diplomacy of the two countries, who underlined the excellence of bilateral relations, while Croatia remains one of the main destinations for Czech tourists, also addressed the issue of the summit of the International Platform for Crimea which will be held in Prague next Tuesday.

Around forty parliamentary delegations from around the world are expected at this conference, which should help keep the Crimea issue at the forefront of the international scene. A joint declaration condemning the illegal occupation of Crimea should notably be adopted on this occasion.
