Foreign Minister Park Jin met with Chairman of Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Yunus Sezer to discuss measures to be taken after the devastating earthquake that struck in last February the country located between Europe and Asia, announced this Sunday its ministry.
The meeting between Park and Sezer took place in Türkiye on Saturday (local time) as the South Korean foreign minister visits the country as part of a four-nation tour that has also taken him to Austria .
Park offered his condolences to the quake victims and expressed his hope that bilateral relations between the two countries will strengthen with Seoul’s support for reconstruction.
He assured that South Korea will continue to provide support at the government level and to civilians who have been affected by the disaster. The South Korean government has pledged more than $10 million to help build shelters for survivors and sent a rescue team. Sezer updated Park on the ongoing efforts and thanked him for Seoul’s quick dispatch of an emergency team.
The number one of South Korean diplomacy will continue his European tour in Italy and the Vatican.
