Czech Diplomat Attends Vienna Meeting with C5 Group

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Pirates) is attending a meeting in Vienna today of the heads of diplomacy of the Central European C5 group, which includes, in addition to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. This is the tenth meeting of this type. After this afternoon’s meeting, ministers will have a working dinner with OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid.

According to Jan Lipavský, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its impact on Central Europe should be the main topics of the meeting in the Austrian capital. Ministers are expected to discuss, among other things, energy security and resource diversification, the future enlargement of the European Union and cross-border cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration.
